Message from a hero

Your doing amazing things for thses Soldiers here. I can look back when we were shakin in our boots going out in those old trucks, your blankets came in, and the whole world changed that day. Everyone looked sharper, worked harder, and just got a rush of life because we were better protected. Now the trucks they are making, cant even fall under the truck catagory, because of all the armor and gadgets. We were just hidden on a small camp using old equipment and too many people would have had to travel too many miles to get us the good stuff.

Soldiers's Angels thanks each and every one who has supported our troops.

Armor is necessary protection for our deployed heroes . Although the Army is now aggressively sending Armored Humvees into the combat theatre, we still have many unarmored vehicles which do not provide adequate protection from sniper fire and IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices). The article following the Kevlar blanket pictured below describes the heartbreaking loss of one of our deployed heroes due to the lack of protection for his vehicle . To help protect our heroes on the dangerous roads of Iraq, Soldiers Angels is working with Kejo (an online distributor of Police,Security and Military Equipment) to help provide Kevlar blankets (cost 925.00 ea) for our Humvees on the front lines. Please help us buy more of these Kevlar blankets. You can donate funds to help purchase a blanket to Soldiers Angels or adopt a soldier in need and send the blanket directly to that unit. Attaching Kevlar blankets to the doors and floors of un-armored humvees provides significant additional protection from IEDs as well as an additional degree of protection from direct fire. Many humvees currently patrolling in Iraq are equipped with only vinyl doors and windows and aluminum flooring.
Please send your tax deductible donation TODAY!!! .

Dear Ma'am,
I just want to thank you for all of your hard work and effort to
supply myself and my troops with armour.  Your efforts will not go
unappreciated.  It is people like yourself who make our nation the
greatest in all the world.  The committment and sacrifice that individuals
like yourself make to support the soldiers out here in Iraq eases not only
the concerns of the soldiers themselves but also the minds of our families
and friends back home.  I just want to reitterate my gratitude for your
wonderful efforts.
                           Sincerely,
                                   SGT Michael

Kevlar Blanket In Iraq

Patti,

Here's the gut reactions from Charlie about receiving the armor blanket:

Thank you guys so much for your generosity, this is the action that everyday citizens can take that show how much we are supported from our homes and even from people we haven't met. Although the Government is taking awesome measures to ensure our safety, gifts like this give much more than safety. They also give you security, security that there are people back home that appreciate the sacrifices.

Patti, both Charlie's mother Kathy and Linda , Charlie's Aunt, wanted me to pass on their thanks for both your personal donation and the Soldier's Angels contribution that made it possible to get the Armor Blanket for him.

        And Thanks from me,

                        Gary
Saving Our Soldiers

As we approach the one-year anniversary of the start of the Iraq war, an imp
ortant fight in our own backyard to better equip our soldiers. A local family, who lost their son is on a mission. The "Night Team's" Caterina Bandini with their story.
Brian Hart, Soldier's Father
"There's a realization that you don't have anything else to lose."

Brian and Alma Hart of Bedford have already suffered the worst loss imaginable, their 20-year-old son John killed in action in Iraq. Last October the private first class was in his Humvee when he was ambushed. John fought back to save himself and his fellow soldiers, but his Humvee offered no protection.

Brian Hart, Soldier's Father
"Their vehicle had no armor or protection and so they were essentially shot up in the vehicle that had no doors or paneling."

Caterina Bandini
"So they were just wide open in this car there was nothing, no where to go so they can fire back?"

Alma Hart, Soldier's Mother
"He fired until he ran out of bullets? and they shot him while reloading."

Caterina Bandini
"He really gave his life for them?"

Alma Hart, Soldier's Mother
"Yes."
