Please Answer The Call
Soldiers are truly enduring the horrible. We must pull together as a country. I ask you, no I get down on my knees and I beg you support a soldier TODAY. Do something now to help, Adopt A Soldier. Write a letter. Go to your local veterans association.
See if there is a wife with a husband deployed and mow her lawn, watch her children, give her a hug. Help the wounded. DO SOMETHING to support these precious heroes. I need you, they need you for this is the type of person a soldier is "I was with that which others did not want to be, I went to where others feared to go, and did what others failed to do. I asked nothing of those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness that I feel. I have seen the face of terror, felt the stinging cold of fear, And enjoyed the sweet taste of a moments love. I have cried pain and hope, But most of all I have lived times others would say were best forgotten. At least some day I'll be able to say, That I was proud what I was, A Soldier." anonymous
If you do not realize it yet let me clue you in. WE ARE AT WAR .
Update The response from the public has been outstanding and in the 3 years I was intrusted with the running and managing of S.A I have seen miracles on a daily basis. Rich Lowe who came through with air miles, hours before we got our first wounded soldier and Lauren Pomerantz
who came up with a round trip voucher for these heroes family. West Point coming through with needed dollars so S.A. could get backpacks to our wounded filled with comfort items and a Blanket Of Hope.
The miracle of a car agency and it's manager Elizabeth Axelguard who took a soldiers mother into her arms and helped provide safe transportation when her car was stolen. The miracle of 80,000 people stepping forward to adopt a soldier/sailor/marine/Air Force to the amazing 500 laptops to those wounded in the field. The miracle of the internet and the Amazing Milbloggers who not only bring us the TRUTH of what is happening on the War On Terror but also have allowed many to connect and effectively help out the Military and their families. I have witnessed hundreds and hundreds of stories of everyday acts by Soldiers Angels so many we are trying to have an oral history put into print. Look for the Soldiers Angels Story coming in December 2006. Thank you Again for allowing me to be here during these historic times. 07-08-06
